Everyday Shadow Work
Shadow work isn’t just a deep dive — it’s daily awareness. It’s noticing the parts of ourselves we’d rather ignore, then choosing to meet them with compassion instead of shame.
This self-guided workshop helps you bring light to the hidden corners gently, one moment at a time.
Step 1: Redefine the Shadow
Your “shadow” isn’t bad — it’s simply the pieces of you that were once unsafe to show. Anger, grief, jealousy, fear — all carry wisdom when acknowledged.
Step 2: Observe Your Triggers
Each time you feel defensive, irritated, or overly judgmental, pause. Ask:
What emotion am I protecting right now?
When have I felt this before?
Triggers are messengers, not enemies.
Step 3: Practice Integration
Instead of rejecting difficult emotions, invite them in.
Write:
“I see you. I understand why you’re here. You no longer need to protect me this way.”
Reflection Prompts
What emotion or reaction do I often try to suppress?
What might happen if I met that part of myself with understanding instead of avoidance?
Takeaway:
Your shadow isn’t your enemy — it’s your teacher. Integration creates wholeness, and wholeness is where true peace lives.
